Top six for Surrey in Guardian league table

The University of Surrey has been ranked in the top six in this year’s Guardian league table, climbing from eighth last year.

The Guardian rankings are based on a carefully balanced combination of statistics that include teaching excellence, academic progress and employability rates. Recently, the University of Surrey achieved a top ten student satisfaction rating of 92 per cent in the National Student Survey (NSS), ranking us ninth in the UK.

Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, said: “This is fantastic news and testament to the hard work of colleagues across the University in continuing to provide a very high quality student experience, alongside cutting-edge research in areas such as science, engineering, health, arts and humanities.

“This is a notable success given the highly competitive market we are now operating in.

“With the launch next year of our new School of Veterinary Medicine and the world’s first research centre dedicated to mobile technology which will lead international research into 5G, there are undoubtedly many more exciting developments for us to look forward to.”
